Buyers Guide

Registration
Prior to bidding at the Auction for the first time we require you to register with us at reception. We will then provide you with a unique buyers name that you may use if you wish to purchase.

Payment
Acceptable methods of payment are:

  • Cash
  • Debit card
  • Credit card (3% additional charge)
  • Cheque backed by a bankers card, up to the limit of that card

To enable you to pay by cheque above the bankers card limit we will require you to complete a Status Enquiry Form to submit to your own bank.

In addition we also require two trade references, from businesses you would normally pay by cheque.

Procedures
On your first visit a member of our staff will explain how the Auction works and show you around the premises. However the main points to be noted are as follows:

  • The auctioneer will normally announce the lot number, the commodity under offer and the number of items in the lot.
  • If you wish to bid, alert the Auctioneer by raising you hand, nodding or another recognisable movement. You may also call out.
  • If the lot is sold to you i.e. you are the top bidder, you will be asked your buyers name. If the lot is being sold as part of a run you will also be asked how may lots you wish to buy.
  • Once you have finished buying proceed to the pay office and obtain an invoice from the counter. This will list all the items that you have purchased from the auction and will allow you to remove your goods from the Auction halls. Please collect your goods and exit via the main door where the goods will be checked off to your invoice by a member of staff.
  • Purchases consist of hammer price plus 6% commission plus VAT.
